ABOUT NORTHUMBERLAND SUMMER HOLIDAY PROVISION
Across the Summer Holidays, Northumberland families of children on free school meals are able to participate in a wide variety of activities for young people aged 5-16, designed to make Summer 2025, the best Summer ever! Activities are free and will include lunch/a meal.

Sign up and Eligibility
Schools will contact children aged 5 to 16 who get free school meals with a voucher code before the summer break.
The voucher code will give families access to the Holiday Activities booking platform and from there, they are able to browse what’s on offer and book activities.

MORTAL FOOLS #HAF2025 ACTIVITY
Creativity Unleashed: creative drama workshops with theatre company Mortal Fools.
Join theatre company Mortal Fools for a fun, creativity filled workshop! Guided by friendly and experienced young people’s practitioners, participants will enjoy drama games and hands-on creativity – they will use their imagination, ideas will grow without limits, new skills will be discovered and confidence boosted! Oh and….lots of fun and play too!
Each Mortal Fools workshop as part of the #HAF2025 programme will be different and is an opportunity for young people to try out different art forms with professional artists and creatives – E.g. performance, collage, zine-making, creative writing, animation and film-making!
During the lunchbreak a nutritious lovely lunch will be provided by our friends at Full Circle Food Project.
At the end of each workshop, grown-ups are invited to join us for a sharing, as the young people will share and celebrate their creations from the session.

Time: 10:30am-2:30pm, including a lunch break

Full Circle Food Project is a local charity that helps people learn about growing, cooking, and enjoying healthy food. They run a community garden, cooking classes, and workshops for all ages. Their vision is to empower individuals and communities to thrive with the knowledge and skills to cultivate a healthy, sustainable lifestyle they aspire to create a future where everyone has access to nutritious food, understands its value, and embraces sustainable practices. By teaching practical skills and encouraging people to get involved, they help build stronger, healthier communities. Ashington Family Hub is part of Northumberland Family Hub wider offer supporting parents or carers of children or young people between 0-19 years old, or 25 with additional needs. Family Hubs carry out a range of services in the local community, ranging from birth registrations and infant feeding advice to relationship support, community events and online resources.
Each hub is buzzing with activities, events, advice and guidance!
To use a Family Hub you need become a member; membership is free and only takes a few minutes. You can find out more and join online via the Family Hubs website.
