Flux 2023 Tour (spring 2023)

Figuring it out and fitting in; what makes you, you?

First produced in 2021, our new 2023 version and tour of Flux took our Ensemble Young Company on the road for performances in Lancashire and Merseyside. You can find out more about the tour and the production of the show here.

The Bigger Picture

This project captured the voices of 75 young people from Northumberland and the North East, produced a collection of short films that bring their experiences, imaginations and dreams to life in a riot of hope, colour and fun. You can watch all of the films in a YouTube playlist.

Mortal Fools x Natural England (October 2023 - March 2024)

We worked with two groups of young people in Ashington to deliver creative activities using nature-based themes and source material to explore their thoughts, ideas, feelings, and experiences of nature in their area and in their lives as young people. This creative intervention project was made possible thanks to the generous support of Natural England.

Fools Fest (December 2023)

Our annual end-of-year celebration returned with two nights of performances by our Mortal Fools Youth Theatre groups. Audiences were invited to step Through the Wardrobe, gather beneath the lamp post in a snow-capped forest and join us on a magical festive adventure. In September, our groups selected The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis as their creative springboard, from which they created extraordinary explorations of the world of Narnia, in partnership with our creative team.
