We are looking for practitioners to run weekly sessions for young people in Ashington, contributing to artistic projects such as performances.

We have fixed-term projects and roles starting from Jan 2026.

Our weekly sessions offer a safe, consistent creative space where children and young people with no/limited access to the arts, can build trusting relationships with practitioners and receive long-term support for their development.

Many of our beneficiaries are neurodivergent, LGBTQIA+, have social, emotional & mental health (SEMH) needs, and/or have experience of socio-economic deprivation. Some of our beneficiaries are also care-experienced, young carers, and/or from the global majority.

Our practitioners work collaboratively amongst a skilled team of fellow Artist Practitioners, Producers, a Production Manager and freelance artists & technicians. We also involve our practitioners in our wider company development work and provide training, DBS checks and other benefits.

We invite applications from people who are:

  • Skilled in leading drama workshops and a drama-based devising / co-creation process with children and young people
  • Passionate about providing children and young people with equitable access to theatre, drama and the arts.
  • Confident supporting young people’s wellbeing, building rapport and responding to their needs.

  • Rate of Pay: £17.85 per hour paid monthly (plus holiday pay). Monthly pay is calculated as an average of the total hours to be worked across the project duration.
  • Contract: Employed, fixed-term contracts, 6-16 hours per week to be agreed.
