How to Spot a Witch
February 2013

Our first Play in a Week project of 2013, which took a unique twist on Roald Dahl’s ‘’The Witches’’, as we transformed the Riding Mill Parish Hall into a military base hosting an operation to eliminate the witches of the world.

Our Easter Holiday Play in a Week project, inspired by J.M Barrie’s ‘’Peter Pan’’ - Neverland looked rather different than usual in this piece, as we transported our audience into a rubbish dump filled with scavengers.

This was a busy time for TVYT - alongside the Play in a Week projects at the time, we also made our first entry into the National Theatre Connections Festival, rehearsing a scripted play over a series of months for the first time, instead of our usual week-long devising process. 10 young people aged 13-18 worked on this project, performing in Riding Mill and at Northern Stage for the regional festival.

I didn’t like it… I loved it!

Our second Summer Holidays Play in a Week project of 2013 was a hilarious satire of the television talent show industry - to accompany the devised show, we even made an emotional music video!

Two Household
August 2013

Our first Summer Holidays Play in a Week of 2013 was perhaps our darkest and most poignant devised story so far - based upon the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, this piece contained an original song and was fully devised in just under a week.
