FREE WEEKLY GROUPS OPEN TO YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 5-19
In these sessions, young people work with professional artists to explore different types of creativity, develop their theatre-making and performance skills, and create their own original shows, films and projects for public performances, sharing with family and friends, or just their own enjoyment.
What they create is always fun, original, and stems from topics and issues that young people care about. All our sessions are free, inclusive, and welcoming to all.

A GUIDE TO OUR WEEKLY GROUPS
Mortal Fools Youth Theatre, Stage 1, 2 and 3

Organised by school year, our three different stages of Youth Theatre welcome young people from Year 1 right through to Year 13. Each group create imaginative new stories together, through theatre, film and audio – all working towards an exciting performance.
Our Youth Theatre groups meet on a Monday at Hirst Welfare Centre, with Stage One (Years 1 to 3) meeting between 4 and 5pm, with Stage 2 (Years 4 to 6) and Stage 3 (Years 7+) meeting from 5.15 to 7pm. |

Ensemble Young Company
|
Our Ensemble Young Company is a group for young people who would like to take part in a more intensive programme, with the opportunity to create and tour a full length play and develop their skills across the year.
Ensemble Young Company is open to young people aged 14 - 19 from across Northumberland, with rehearsals based at Hirst Welfare Centre in Ashington; taking place during term time on Thursdays, from 6 - 8pm. |
Creative Sparks Mixed Arts Group

Our Creative Sparks Mixed Arts group explore a wide range of creative activities, including visual art, filmmaking, animation, writing, music making and more!
This group welcomes everyone aged 10+ and takes place on Thursday evenings at Ashington Family Hub, offering exciting opportunities to learn new skills and make friends for those who might not want to commit to youth theatre performances. |

We are always excited to welcome new members, and offer everybody a free taster session to try a group out before committing to a project.
There may be occasions where you need to be added to a waiting list before joining; for example, if the relevant group is at capacity or if we are mid-project, but we will always try to accommodate new members where possible. If you are added to a waiting list, we will keep in contact to let you know as soon as a space becomes available.
