WEEKLY GROUPS OPEN TO YOUNG PEOPLE AGED 5-19
In these sessions, young people work with professional artists to develop their theatre-making and performance skills, and create their own original theatre shows and films for public performances or sharings. What they create is always fun, original, and stems from contemporary topics and issues, with young people's ideas at the heart.
We're excited to announce that we are starting a brand new Stage 1 group in September 2025 and a mixed arts group in January 2026! Scroll down for more info about these and all our groups.

NEW MEMBERS
Mortal Fools Youth Theatre will be starting a brand new project in September 2025 – current members will be offered a place first, before opening up recruitment to our waiting lists and anyone that has expressed an interested in joining.
If you are interested in joining click the button below to register your interest and a member of the team will get in touch to discuss the best group to suit your needs. We are always excited to welcome new members, and offer everybody a free taster session to try a group out before committing to a project.
There may be occasions where you need to be added to a waiting list before joining, for example if the relevant group is at capacity or if we are mid-project, but we will always try to accommodate new members where possible. If you are added to a waiting list, we will keep in contact to let you know as soon as a space becomes available.

Over the next year, we will be working on a longer-term project, where our groups will work towards an ambitious, full-scale, end of project performance in Summer 2026! Across Term 1, we'll be working towards a small-scale showcase event in January 2026 where we’ll share all the content the groups have made so far, before ending the year with an exciting performance event in Summer 2026 at the end of Term 2.

BRAND NEW GROUPS!
Stage 1 group - starting this SeptemberWe are launching a brand-new Youth Theatre group for children aged 5-7 years in Ashington this September!
Over the last two years, we’ve had LOADS of requests from our Mortal Fools Ashington community, to start a group for children under 7 and we’ve decided to make it happen! We’ve been chatting to parents, carers, teachers and children themselves, about the types of things they’d like this group to offer and how it might support members through creativity! The first session is on 15th September and sessions will be on Mondays 16:00 - 17:00 at Ashington Family Hub during term time. |
"Mortal Fools Youth Theatre is a great safe vehicle from which kids can explore ideas and emotions; it builds confidence, but most of all, it's fun!”
