​Straight From The Horse's Mouth: Scratch Night

Straight From the Horse’s Mouth was TVYT’s first ever scratch night, planned completely by our Young Leaders group. The evening contained performances from all of our weekly groups, as well as a short snippet of our 2016 entry to the National Theatre Connections festival ‘’It Snows’’, which was to be taken to the Northern Stage in April.

The Baudelaire Fire & The Museum of Unfortunate Events - ​April 2016

​TVYT’s next venture into the world of micro theatre, with a performance inspired by Lemony Snicket’s ‘’A Series of Unfortunate Events’’, saw our audience members being ushered around four main spaces, which completely transformed the Riding Mill Parish Hall. This project also saw the introduction of our Play in a Week Production places, which allowed four young people to gain experience as directors, designers and technicians. ​

It Snows: National Theatre Connections
April 2016

​Our 2016 entry for National Theatre Connections saw us perform ‘’It Snows’’ by Bryony Lavery in the Riding Mill Parish Hall and the Northern Stage in Newcastle, delving into physical theatre and movement more than ever.

What Lies Before Us

A showcase event exploring the theme of bravery. This was the first time our groups worked alongside writers within the devising process, to create new scripts for their pieces.

Hamlet
​June 2016

our first full-scale theatre production with the school was Hamlet. It was set in a punk nightclub in modern day and the school were accommodating enough to allow us to take over the school hall for a full two weeks to enable us to fully transform it into an immersive theatre space.
