Illuminate
May 2017

‘Illuminate’ was an ambitious event, featuring four promenade performances around Riding Mill, an exhibition of props and videos from previous shows, a Mad Hatter’s tea party, and a devised performance from each of our TVYT groups, performed in the Parish Hall.

The Tempest
(Future Ready)
June 2017

This production is the centrepiece of
Future Ready 2017. It is designed to use
a theatre production process as the context
to support young people with special
educational needs and disabilities to
develop the skills, mindset and other
attributes needed for a successful
transition beyond life at school.

Say It Play It
July 2017

After a busy few months working away on our big 5th birthday celebration event – Illuminate – we thought we’d give our members a bit more freedom in their final term of 2016-17. Say it Play it was our first ever fully improvised event – no scripts, no characters, no set, just our brilliant young people and whatever they come up with on the night! As always, our members stepped up their game and gave their audience a night of entertainment, laughter, and the perfect level of confusion.

5 Red Cars
August 2017

Our last Play in a Week project, using “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time” as our stimulus. ‘Play in a Week’ projects are a really great way of developing the skills you need to devise work quickly and truly in collaboration with the young people in the room. We used this final Summer Holidays project as an artist development opportunity, where our more experienced practitioners offered coaching and mentoring to 3 of our newest associate team recruits. We know we want to bring the Play in a Week back when the time is right, so watch this space.

12 Days of Christmas
@Front Street Theatre December 2017

Our 2017 end of year production, with performances by three groups in our temporary performance space – Front Street Theatre – a converted shop on Prudhoe High Street. This was the first performance from our group at Ovingham Middle School and, for many of our members, their first opportunity to perform in a black box theatre.
