You say to me... Your brain is broken. It's like an adult's brain that doesn't work properly.
I say to you… My brain isn’t broken. It’s beautiful.
Inside every young persons brain, 86 billion neurons connect, crash, collide and clash to cause daily chaotic and exhilarating changes; a hive of constant activity, growing, evolving, changing.
Brainstorm was a fast paced, dynamic and physical theatre show created for and by young people, exploring how their brains work and why they're designed to be imperfectly perfect.
Brainstorm was a fast paced, dynamic and physical theatre show created for and by young people, exploring how their brains work and why they're designed to be imperfectly perfect.
Using script developed by Ned Glasier, Emily Lim and Company Three in collaboration with neuroscientists, Director Helen Ferguson and an ensemble cast of young people delve into their personal experiences to explore their relationships with their parents and themselves, whilst making sense of the world around them.
Brainstorm is a poignant, honest, funny and thought-provoking show that showcases young talent from across the Tyne Valley, and challenges you to see young people and their brains in new ways.

What the audience thought...
“The whole experience left me feeling really positive and to me that’s a pretty fine performance. To feel an integral part of something and be able to apply the lessons that came with the experience to your own life is something really special.”

“Mortal Fools are making the highest quality new work with young people. Brainstorm was polished, surprising, contemporary and relevant. It completely disarmed its audience in Barrow and we are hungry for more”
