About the project:
The #CoronavirusTimeCapsule was created by Company Three – a fantastic youth theatre based in London who we have an existing partnership with. We took part in this project across 11 weeks in April - July 2020, alongside 100s of other youth theatres and community groups all across the world. Here's how it worked...
1. Every week, we focused on a different ‘Topic’
Example topics could be things like Home Life, School, Food etc.
2. Participants took part in 1 x online live youth theatre session per week via Zoom.
Working with their practitioners and fellow group members to creatively explore that week’s topic, just like we would in a normal MFYT session.
3. After the live session, each participant went away to make a 15-sec video, called ‘a moment’.
To help with creating these, participants also received extra video tutorials and resources from their practitioners, and had the opportunity to attend a drop-in session the day after their session to get some exrtra help or advice from their practitioners.
As well as these videos, Company Three also created week-by-week tutorials, so participants had so many great resources to choose from!
4. All the 15-sec videos were then collated and edited together
This creates the individual ‘time capsule’ instalments, which are then released online at a set time each week, for all the world to see! By the end of the project, we've got a whole 11 weeks worth of amazing insights from our young people, as well as all the other videos from other teenagers across the world.
